The bizarre Vasco´s president, Eurico Miranda confirmed Romário as the coach for 2008 season, a few days ater the striker was tested positive for doping on the 2-2 tie against Palmeiras. In his blood was found finasterida, a common substance used to prevent balding. The player himself announced the positive result and stated that he does not plan on retiring before playing next year´s Carioca (RJ) championship.
For the next season, Eurico is signing some players, although Romario claims he doesn´t know any of them. Now, the club is trying to bring back “the animal” Edmundo, who alongside Romario formed one of the most famous and polemic doubles of Brazil´s football.
